One of the Washington Center's primary purposes is to be the home for many of the region's finest
performing arts programs. In addition, our facility is heavily rented for receptions, meetings,
video shoots, public presentations... in short, just about anything that needs space, from an
intimate small reception room to a large theater. Our two theaters together average 450 rental
days each year!
The spaces we have available for rent are:
- STAGE I - MAINSTAGE [View Specs]
A proscenium theater with a seating capacity of 987 on four levels, a large green room area with a production office and four dressing rooms, and usable lobby space on 3 levels with capacity for anything from intimate receptions for 20 to larger receptions for 400.
- STAGE II - BLACK BOX [View Specs]
Extremely flexible black box theater space with versatile seating options for up to 125, or for standing receptions of up to 200 with small adjacent lobby. The space can be set up theater style with seats on the floor or on flexibly-arranged risers, cabaret-style with round 4-top tables, reception style with tables around the room, etc., etc. There is one dressing room accommodating up to 8 people.
- MAINSTAGE LOBBY
If you don't need to use the theater but need a space to accommodate several hundred for a
reception, consider renting just the lobby. There are three distinct usable areas of
different sizes and shapes.
The Washington Center is designed to accommodate two completely separate events concurrently in
two distinctively different theaters/lobby spaces. If space or room needs dictate, the entire
building can be rented for a single event.
